rwillis9 Posted March 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Hi All, My wife and I are going to be in Costa Maya in a few weeks. It is our second time there and last time we did the David and Ivan tour. I am interested in doing some snorkeling and maybe lounging around the beach. What would be the best options. I had heard some about Olinca Watersports, but any info is appreciated. Thanks alot!:D
doctrd Posted March 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 14, 2007 We were in Costa Maya last year, and were impressed with the quality of the snorkeling. Nice reefs, clear water, good variety of fish. Not the best I have seen, but we enjoyed it very much and are going back next month. Sound like you might enjoy this place, Tequilla Beach Club. They take you from the beach, on a small boat, not very far out from the beach, to snorkel. You spend the rest of the time at the beach, enjoying the drinks and snacks. rwillis9 Posted March 14, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted March 14, 2007 Thanks for the reply. Do they have lockers available at the club? Also, how busy is the beach club. I could not remember if this is the place that had the cruise line beach break. Thanks in advance.
doctrd Posted March 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted March 21, 2007 When we were there, it was not crowded. I have read more recent posts that said it was very crowded. So it may depend on how many ships in port that day. I believe they do have lockers. Enjoy the photo I found on Webshots......

lazygal Posted March 21, 2007 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2007 It wasn't crowded at all when we were there in Feb. No loud party atmosphere and no problem getting waited on at all. They were great. Three ships were in port. I would say the crowd would vary from day to day with how successful their sales are from the booth at the port. The restrooms were VERY clean and the showers came in handy. We did the snorkle tour and it was good - not the best we've done, but crystal clear water and a variety of smaller fish and a fair reef system from the boat - not shore (too much sea grass at the shore)
