teedee Posted August 2, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2004 Maybe I'm older than some, but I do know what you mean, at least I think I do. I'm assumming you mean formal clothing. I love dressing up for formal nights on cruises. I don't get a chance to do that at home, even my office is casual so I love doing it on a cruise! Ma Bell Posted August 2, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2004 This is really funny. When I read the title I was sure you would get some strange responses. Yes, your gladrags are formal clothing and almost everyone brings his version of them on Celebrity.

ElaineB2 Posted August 2, 2004 #12 Share Posted August 2, 2004 The only reason I knew what they were referring to was the question that said "I don't wear them but I hire them." Also, I think to "hire" a tux is a British term isn't it? I rent them but I've heard the term hire. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
dmarch@islc.net Posted August 2, 2004 #13 Share Posted August 2, 2004 So Flagger what is it? A tux, menstruation tool, dessert topping?
Char Posted August 2, 2004 #14 Share Posted August 2, 2004 In my dictionary & also if you do a search of gladrag on the Net you will see it is menstruation tool. But it may have a new meaning....... "Gladrags" is an old term. According to Webster:Slang. dressy clothes, esp. evening clothes. Webster doesn't mention menstruation. Brenda, you have to use the plural to get the correct definition!:D
Ma Bell Posted August 2, 2004 #15 Share Posted August 2, 2004 It is true that they are also washable rags that women used to use more before the advent of the disposible pad. Some are still used believe it or not, but I'm sure that's not what Flagger had in mind when he started this thread. That's one of the reasons I was laughing when I read this title.
