I will never stay in that hotel again...We asked for a non-smoking room and it was somking...we also asked for a room close to the pool...we ended up on the backside of the hotel...We called in and asked to be on the 11:30 shuttle to the port...when we got there our names were not even on the list...

We have stayed there twice and were happy. Price is good and there is a lot to do nearby. I would say go to FishLips for dinner if you are going to find a place to eat. The food was great. And once we saw dolphins playing at their dock.

Try to aviod the free shuttle from the hotel to pier if possible. This is how we did it the second time: (First time we used their shuttle and it was choas)

If you are going to rent a car. I suggest Budget at the airport with drop off next to the hotel. The day of the cruise the guys dropped us girls and the luggage off at the pier and went back and returned the car. We people watched at the curb while we waited. They then took the free budget shuttle to the pier and met up with us. It took about 15 minutes extra and was worth the extra steps to be able to get to the ship early. And avoid the bus choas at the hotel.

Here are our pics of the hotel.

We stay there every year pre-cruise. We like it a lot and find the staff to be friendly and helpful. We do not use their shuttle, but we do take advantage of the free cruise parking which saves $70.00 vs parking at the port. Call Yellow Top cab - they will have business cards at the front desk. Have them pick you up at the side of the hotel at the convention center. The front of the hotel will be crowded with the shuttle madness. The cab will cost $2.00 per person each way. Save Yellow top phone number and call them when you retrun. They will pick you up in front of the terminal and take you back to your car for $2.00 PP. If you go to the port's "cab pickup" area you will pay 6 times as much because the port authourity takes a cut.

Have a great time!!

We stayed there on each previous cruise and thought it was very nice each time. If we do not stay at my friends house an hour away for the pre-cruise then we will be staying at the Radisson. We love their pool and restaurant. There are some other very nice restaurants nearby, but cannot remember the names. I guarantee you other CC members will help you with other restaurants. Oh by the way we rented from AVIS both times and this time also. The first cruise AVIS was on the Radisson property and took the hotels shuttle which was good. The second time we used AVIS' shuttle was was good also. This time in August, I will drop my wife and the baggage off at the pier and bring the car back and shuttle back on my own.

We've stayed there twice; August 2004 and August 2006. We get the suite with 2 king beds. We've used their free shuttle both times and it worked out very well; in the past the shuttles used to be "chaotic", but they've since improved the procedures. We always use a stretch limo for transportation while on vacation so we never rent a car, but the shuttle service at the Radisson was quite satisfactory :)

I have some pictures of the suite on my web site, here's a link: http://www.brownfamilyvacations.com/html/precruise.htm

The pool area is very nice, and we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet the next morning.

(Note: Not all reservations include complimentary breakfast, ours happened to include it).

EBFURR: When was the last time you used Yellow Cab? A yr ago we were told $7 on the phone but cost us $10..for 2 of us. Also $10 this Feb w/American. both rec. by the Rad. Last I knew port parking was up to $12/day..$84/wk.

Inflation!

Someone posted the system for shuttle @ the Rad has improved. Anyone know in what way? TIA.
