Newlyweds enjoy Disney?

Hi there,

We're thinking of trying DC for our next cruise and are wondering if those without kids have found it as enjoyable as some of the mass market lines? We're in our late 20s/early 30s and do enjoy some type of night life (comedy shows, clubs for dancing) and cocktails before dinner etc...

Really enjoy Disney and its' service levels and products, but are curious as to how others have fared w/o kids who also enjoy RCI, Princess. Will we be bored compartively? We're easy-going and just enjoy being on vacation, but of course the price is coming into play on this decision. We could do RCI's Freedom again for the same $...

Your opinions are welcome!

Thanks!!!

I'd say if you like Disney, you'd have fun!! We did the family thing, my mom was just as excited to see the characters as my son & nephew!!!:D

I think it makes you feel that kid inside you when you see the Disney stuff, at least it did for me!!! My husband and I had a lot of fun. We did a lot of walking around the ship, we didn't go to the lounges. But from hearing people talk and the CM joking about previous nights activities, it sounds like they had A LOT of FUN!!!!

We probably would have done more but we were only on the 4N cruise!

Hope this is the kind of advice that will be helpful!:)

My husband and I did the 7-night Land-and-Sea for our honeymoon, and we loved it! We both love Disneyland, and the Disney Cruise was right up our alley. The "Disney-ness" was actually very understated, though - it was very sophisticated! Don't get me wrong - there is plenty of Disney Magic (and characters!) around, but also plenty of adult-only spaces and activities. You'll have a blast!

(Not that I have anything to compare it to... yet!) :)

I think TrojanJulez nailed it....it is elegant and plenty of adults only space if you want it - your own pool, cafe and beach besides the obvious of the night clubs. One thing you won't find if it matters is a casino.

The cruises are WONDERful and MAGICal though!

DCL is GREAT for adults. We've cruise on DCL, NCL and Carnival. DCL did the best job at keeping adult-only areas free of children. Between the adult swimming pool (a great feature, where you don't have to worry about the pool being mobbed) and the clubs (adults only after 9 pm), there's plenty of time to be alone.

DH and I cruised on DCL for our honeymoon and were surprised that there were a few other honeymoon couples along at the same time. We've been back on DCL with other family members and have a third DCL cruise booked for next year (15 nights through the Panama Canal). We're also in our late 20s, and DCL is our favorite cruise line.

We have done 5 cruises with Disney, 2 with our children, and 3 without. Each cruise has been terrific. Disney service has been outstanding, and their entertainment for adults was good clean fun. The clincher is a day at Serenity Bay, on Castaway Cay. It's adults only, and a piece of Heaven on Earth. Metrowon
