Dinner Seating

When we booked our cruise with the TA she asked us which seating we wanted. Give your TA a call and find out. Also, from what I've read on the boards, we'll find out which seating we get when we get to our stateroom.

Not all cruises have assigned dinning times. Maybe you are on one without? (For example: On NCL you do not have a reserved table and have to find one each night. In Cunard's Grill Class your table is yours for all meals and you can come whenever you like in a two hours window. Some just have one fixed seating.)

Yet most ships nowadays have two seatings. You will find a card in your cabin stating your seating and your table number.

If you care about the time you should contact your TA to send your request out.

If you’re waitlisted for the late seating then you are currently assigned to the early. Even if you don’t clear the list by the time you check-in don’t fret. If you still prefer the late seating wait until after the first dinner then go ask the maitre’d to please move you to the late. Often people will want to switch after the first meal. Hopefully by then you will be able to get what you want.

Cruisebound - Hi there. It would help us to know which cruiseline or ship you'll be on, as most have varying policies.:)

Carnival, for instance..... Your booking agent should have ask which seating you prefer - early or late. This is always only a request (except for Platinum status passengers), and you won't know until you receive your Sail & Sign card just prior to boarding the ship.

Your S&S card will have the dining room and time embossed on there. If this isn't what you prefer, you can see the Maitre d' at the appointed time (listed in the ship's daily newsletter "Capers"), and request a different seating.
