sorry, no I haven't been on the boards, so I didn't hear about it. As for places that only serve coke??? I drink fru fru drinks! and happy hour at that

Well you will be glad to hear that they actually have "fru fru" drinks on the ship too!!! :D So there, problem solved :)

You can buy a 1.5 liter bottle for $3.50, it will actually be IN your cabin...

Also, you can ask for a pitcher and get the cold water...

They allow a bottle of wine or champagne, meant to be to celebrate a special occasion... if you drink water to celebrate that occasion, they have water onboard for free so no need to bring it... it's really good water.

Also people have to consider that wine may be brought as there are so many varities that it may be hard to find "your brand"

To the lady who wants to bring a 6pk of coke, dont they carry coke products?

Get a life like the majority of us I guess. A few, who insisted on taking on cases and cases of stuff ruined it for everyone.

If you can't go for a week without 48 cans of Dr. Pepper, you have a problem and should see a specialist.

First, they wouldn't let bring on my mini keg of Shiner Beer, now, no H2O. What is Carnival coming to? TIME TO CHANGE CRUISE LINE! That's my choice. Adios Curt.

We will certainly miss you!! NOT!:p

Good luck on the other cruise lines... remember, you are abandoning 'The Fun Ships'!

You might want to avoid RCL as well...

Carnival's not even the first line to implement such a restriction. In a little noticed policy shift, Royal Caribbean already prohibits bringing nonalcoholic beverages onboard.

I drink I lot of water and the ships water out of the tap in the drink areas tasted better than tap water at home. It is purified water. I love diet mt dew but did manage without it for a week. I hate this policy for those of you that are avid pepsi drinkers it would totally suck

The Upfront cost of cruising continues to decline. For our last 7 day cruise on RCI was $595 pp for an outside cabin. Twenty years ago our 1st cruise on Carnival was $1195 pp for an inside. $600 pp for the week sure buys alot of water even at $4 a bottle.

Good point!!!

Cruises on Carnival for an average cabin are somewhere around $100pp/pd... for that you get all you can eat, a place to sleep, entertainment,etc... I couldn't do that at a land resort, even if I did bring my own liquor and water... any way you cut it, it's still a great bargain.

Well 1) I use coke as a generic- so if you go with "hard to find your brand" than that applies to many types of coke (pepsi, etc) as well.

2) I do personally drink coke products, but rarely more than one a day, and never if I have to pay a dollar a can- and I believe I would have to pay more than that on-board. I can live without soft drinks for the week, but my PVP did mention it as a perk when we discussed reasons to book carnival over another line. Its dissappointing it is no longer offerred.

Hopefully the water will agree with me, since I can't bring bottles on- I have a tough time with tap water, and thankfully now live somewhere I can drink it. I tend to let myself get really dehydrated rather than drink water I think is "gross"- even if other people think it is not. I grew up with semi-hard water, and really prefer it to really soft water.

I just find it unfortunate that my husband can bring a beverage he enjoys, because it is wine, rather than paying the high prices on the ship, and I cannot.

Let me know if you find a cruise line that lets me bring my Shiner! Or better yet, just sells it to me!

On second thought, never mind. With all the foo foo drinks available I probably wouldn't drink a beer on a cruise even if they had Shiner. :p
