beachbev Posted March 25, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2007 My family is splitting up for diff. activities. Will our phones work in Cozumel? We want to meet back up on a beach somewhere but not sure where yet.
SCUBA Mark Posted March 25, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2007 I have Sprint and they work on Cozumel. You have to call Sprint in advance to enable international roaming and they have to download something into your phone. You have to put your phone on analog and the calls ar $1.00 per minute. Another option is to get walkie talkies. I have a model that is rechargeable and the distance is 10 miles. They work pretty good on the ship also. I have even been able to call from the shore to the ship. The good ones are around $50+. You can use them for other things like camping and bike riding also. gail811 Posted March 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 27, 2007 Verizon requires you add "International Dialing" to your plan; no charge. I think the cost in Mexico is $1.69 a minute (might want to check that out, I can't recall the exact price) I enabled all of mine for that reason; we are splitting up for part of the day and want to be able to communicate IF necessary.
