Livorno to Lucca

Narita

Recommended Posts

Narita,

We did it last November. There were four of us and we took a taxi from the pier to the Livorno Centrale train station. The fare was 20 Euros. Trains go between Livorno and Lucca roughly every hour. I think the fare for a second class RT ticket was eight or nine Euros. Just purchase your ticket at the station. The trip took a little over an hour including a leisurely train change in Pisa. If I'm not mistaken, you can get off in Pisa, look around and then catch a later train to Lucca or Livorno depending on your direction of travel.

Don't forget to validate your ticket in one of the yellow ticket machines you'll see at the station. You can peruse the timetable for Trenitalia by going to their web site at http://www.trenitalia.com/en/index.html.

Have fun. Lucca is well worth the minimal effort to get there.
