scotts8826 Posted March 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2007 I had reserved a stingray tour with Moby Dick Tours this past week. We tendered into George Town only to find out that Moby Dick had cancelled the tour. The currents and wind had created unfavorable conditions at the sandbar. The water was too murky to enjoy the stingrays. I was disappointed but pleased that Moby Dick was more interested in providing a quality excursion instead of forcing the tour in these conditions. My wife talked with someone who had gone on the excursion with Capt. Marvin and she was sorely disappointed. The water was so cloudy they could not even see the stingrays. So, KUDO's to Moby Dick Tours for being more concerned about the quality of thier tour instead of just the day's income. I was disappointed in not going but I would have been more so had I spent the money for an excursion that did not deliver a good experience. Smileeface Posted March 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 27, 2007 It's good to know that they are considerate of their clients! We are reserved with Moby Dick Tours in June, and really looking forward to it. I've read good reviews here and on tripadvisor.com. (They had a couple of bad reviews in 2005 about a particular captain who is apparently no longer with them). I emailed them and Mark responded back and forth with me quickly. No money down required although they accept only cash or traveler's cheques when you check in. Thanks for your post and too bad the weather didn't cooperate. Hope our weather is good so we can enjoy it!
