Are you allowed to take wine on board and pay the corkage.?????? We are going on Pacific Sun 11th April, 2007.:) :)

No. They've banned passengers from taking any alcohol on board. They take it off you and hold it til the end of the cruise. You get it back when you disembark.

Apparently Carnival in the US have now also stopped non-alcoholic beverages from being taken on board (water and softdrink). I wonder how long before that becomes policy downunder?

Hi cruisers, we were able to take wine and beer on board Sapphire Princess out of New Zealand, security just looked in our bags for other things.!!

but you cannot take any on board P&O ships or any Princess ship that cruise out of Australia under P&O.
