Self-Made Bonvoyage Baskets???

Okay this may seem like a stupid question...

but I was planning on giving all my family and friends on our cruise a basket of goodies and "Sparkeling Cider" as a Bon Voyage Gift...

I called Carnival and they said one bottle of Cider or wine was fine per room...but the gal wasn't sure about the food...

If Packaged food was exceptable...

like roasted peanuts and snacks...

Has anyone ever done this...because the Gal at the crusie lines had never been asked this question before~~~

Thanks!

I'm bringing low quality beach towels and the cheap blow up plastic rafts for our next group cruise. We'll be stopping at Royal Caribbean's private island and I think it'll be a great inexpensive gift to give for the day.

LOL I wasn't going to pack all of that!!!

I was going to buy it in Ft Lauderdale!!! and put it together in the hotel...then PASS them out as we are waiting for our transportation to take us!

BTW Great Idea to give out cheap blow up float mats!!!

Anything else that is cheap and fun to do instead of "Food"!!!

Thanks.

I've done Easter "baskets" for the kids...but instead of baskets 've used gift bags (small and light). The plastic eggs are easy enough to pack, and I stuffed them with spending cash ($2 bills are a big hit). Other items in the bags were things I would have purchased/brought along anyway...waterproof cameras, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc. The boys like having the Easter tradition continued at sea.

I could see how you could do something for a group. You'll make everyone feel special...stick with small and useful items. AND it's a great idea to make each guest carry it on the ship him/herself.

Got me thinking now...

Bubbles- for the sail away

Highlighters- for capers

Magnetic clip- for back of door to hold $2 bills, tip for room service

Small first aid kit-few bandaids, first aid cream, tape, etc

Hope this helps

Happy Cruising, Sea YA !!

Hey what if Instead of Baskets...

I did a small sand box "pail and shovel" set and put the other stuff inside!

That isn't to Kindergaten for adults...Is it?

I wish we could fly kites off the ship...that would be an awesome bon voyage thing to do....
