I would like to see both the beach and the Ruins in Belize. Is that possible? Has anyone heard of that as a combined tour? If not in Belize..what about a combined tour In Costa Maya of the Ruins and some beach time there?? Any sugestions would be great! Thanks!

I think it would work out in Costa Maya, but I don't think it would work out in Belize.

There are not good beaches on the mainland. The best beaches are on cayes, or islands which you have to get to by water taxi. I frankly don't think you'd have enough time in Belize to see the ruins and then take a water taxi out to one of the cayes and then get back in time. Don't forget, Belize is a tender port, so you have to allow extra time to tender both getting off the ship and back on again.

I think going to both a beach and the ruins would work well in Costa Maya. We visited the ruins while there. Many of our group then went to the beach in the town area which is about 3 miles or so from the port after the ruins tour. We were worn out, so we went back to the port.
