neverthought Posted March 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted March 28, 2007 I've done a search and can't seem to find the info>Is there an area at the NYC pier for people to stand and wave you off for your cruise? We sail out of NYC always and have never seen anyone doing this. Where are they standing, on top of the parking garages? Anyone have an answer? Thanks, Neverthought
dtiger Posted March 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2007 I think if people were to stand right to the side of where you enter the pier, basically in front of the ship on the sidewalk you could wave to them from the bow as the ship heads out. Cosmopolitan Posted March 29, 2007 #3 Share Posted March 29, 2007 They can stand in the parking lot...however your cabin must be on that side of the ship or at the bow for you to see them. My daughter and her fiance did this when they were doing the "bike NY' when we were sailing. Rode their bikes into the parking lot. Last year, they drove up a road (directly in front of the ship) illegal to park so they just got out of the car and waved. They did not get chased away. We have pictures of them waving. Pretty cool! What we do is, we have a cell phone and they have one...when they arrive at the pier, we direct them to where we are and they always find us. Bon Voyage days are gone forever:mad:
