Dawn mechanical information wanted

Most people would not care about this information as long as the cruise goes as scheduled.

Prior to, during, and after our Mexican Riviera cruise March 10 to 21, I tried to find out about these details, since I am mechanically inclined. I did learn that the ship is powered by Sulzer diesel engines of 12 or 16 cylinders each, apparently as part of a diesel-electric setup. I'd like to know about engine horsepower, bore & stroke, torque and RPM's, etc.

Another question is about the ship's fresh water capacity. Since I saw water hoses connected to the ship in one of the ports, and since there was no change in the taste of the water during the cruise, I conclude the ship purifies its own water.

Thanks,

Ray Mac.

well this may not be that much of a help but they are fun pictures :D They are kinda like this:

Total engine weight: 2300 tons

Maximum power: 108,920 hp at 102 rpm

Maximum torque: 5,608,312 lb/ft at 102rpm

That is for a LARGE tanker or cargo ship...
