carlywilson Posted April 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2007 Hi I will be taking my first cruise soon, and I am confused about the formal nights on the CB We have anytime dining, and if we decide to eat at the buffet on the formal evening, do we still need to dress in formal dress? Are the pools open on formal night? if we wanted to watch MUTS, are we required to do so in our formal clothing? Thank you Carly
BigGuy25 Posted April 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2007 You can be a casual as you'd like at the buffet on formal night. And, you definately don't need to be formal for MUTS. Even folks who do dress up change their clothes before going up to the Lido deck for the movie. I always change after dinner in the dining room ... even if I'm going to the casino. MaryPoppinz Posted April 1, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 1, 2007 The posted dress code for the evening doesn't apply to the pool areas or to the buffet. (The buffet has its own dress code.) So, if your plan is to swim, eat, and then watch Movies....you do not need formal clothing. :) And, the pools are (usually) open in the evening unless they are being maintained. Have a great first cruise. :)
carlywilson Posted April 1, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted April 1, 2007 Great info! Thanks a bunch. That makes alot of difference in how much we end up packing, and that also saves me from trying to talk my 15 year old into wearing a tux :p
BigGuy25 Posted April 2, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 2, 2007 Also remember that on formal nights, most men don't wear tuxes. Most wear suits ... some simply a sport coat and tie. Some don't wear jackets at all ... but they do look out-of-place.
