yj2cute Posted April 9, 2007 #77 Share Posted April 9, 2007 Hi, Radio. Loving your report and pics. Tribute was on our last cruise and we enjoyed them immensely. If you're a fan of Motown and the Temps you should enjoy that show. My GF met them on our cruise and is in an ongoing friendship with one of the members. Enjoy your day. wasup254 Posted April 9, 2007 #78 Share Posted April 9, 2007 Hi Radio, We are onboard in 6 days for our TA on the Jewel and we are staying on for the 4 day cruise..so 16 days with the Jewel.. The cybercabin internet versus the wi fi....we are doing the cyber cabin, I beleive you said it was slower, is that correct?? I have offered to do some "work" the week we are at sea and wonder just how slow it was? I feel like I am already onboard, but then I look out the window and there is a gold course not the deep blue sea Marlene
cruiseorbust Posted April 9, 2007 #79 Share Posted April 9, 2007 Radio....thanks for letting us enjoy the Jewel through you....she is my favorite ship!!! If you want the best drink on the ship....go to the casino bar and ask for Pavlin....he is the greatest! He is also fun to talk with, and enjoys the company. Let me know what you think.... I have offered to do some "work" the week we are at sea and wonder just how slow it was? I have a similar question - is the CyberCabin wireless or is it a regular modem connection? We are unsure which to use on our Baltic cruise this summer. Thanks! The pictures are great.

I feel like I am already onboard, but then I look out the window and there is a gold course not the deep blue sea Marlene Cybercabin is very slow (46kbps) bet it is very cheap (80.00 for unlimited use for the cruise) It hooks up with a cable in your cabin. Wi-Fi (450-750 kbps) can be as little as .33 per minute with a package (150min/ $50.00) You can take your laptop to one of the many hotspots on the ship (non operational in your cabin) Thanks for the nice comments... Rare Radio Posted April 9, 2007 Author #84 Share Posted April 9, 2007 Hello everyone! We are currently about 100nm from San Juan, PR. (19.27.38N / 67.38.01W) The Jewel has sailed 818 nm from Fort Lauderdale. The temperature is currently 79f, and sunny. The forecast is for 85f, and sunny. We are sailing at 19.5 kts. Our course is 128 degrees. I was told by the Concierge last night, that there were 500 children onboard this week. There were over 700 last week, and next week for the TA, there are only 38. They have opened up the Hollywood Odyssey, in addition to the Concierge Lounge for an overflow, because of all of the Diamond, and Diamond Plus passengers on board this week. She suggested that next week, there will be even more D and D+. Here are the TV Channels that are on board for this week. 14-RCTV 15-Explorations (Excursion Videos) 16-CBS Eye on Royal Caribbean 17-CNN Intl 18-Headline News 19-ESPN 20-Movie Channel 1 21-Movie Channel 2 22-Discover Shopping 23-TCM 24-TNT 25-Discovery Channel 26-Bloomberg 27-RCTV 2- Info Channel 28-Royal Classics 29-Cartoon Network 30-Adventure Ocean TV 31-Retro TV 32-XYTV Music Videos 33-Movie Channel-Span 34-Movie Channel-French 35-Movie Channel-German 36-Movie Channel-Italian 37-Movie Channel-Portugese 38-CNN Espanol 39-Cruise Compass 40-Bridge View/ Info Channel 41-Venus TV 42-MTV Latin Here are some pics from around the ship. Rare Radio Posted April 10, 2007 Author #91 Share Posted April 10, 2007 Hello everyone! Toaday was a great day in San Juan. I got off of the Ship around 4PM, and walked around Old San Juan for about a few hours. I made it to the Sheraton Casino, up to the fort, went to Starbucks, shopped in the quaint old streets of Old San Juan. It was delightful. The weather was perfect. I came back to the ship at around 7 for dinner, and went back out for a little bit. I made it back again for the Tribute Show, before we sailed away at 10PM. I have been having problems uploading my pics to the website (which is required for me to post on CC) I was able to get a few on, but will upload the reat when my connection is better. Tomorrow is St Maarten, and with us there will be the Empress of the Seas and Easy Cruise 2. My plan is to visit one of the beaches on the Dutch side, and maybe visit on of the Casino's on Front Street. Tomorrow is also the Caribbean Beach Party on the Pool deck in the evening... that should be fun ! Here are a few pics from today.. I will get more posted soon ! ! Radio . .
