Cinderellie Posted August 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2004 Hi -- my husband has always wanted us to take ballroom dancing lessons. Do they offer them on the ship? How often do they offer them during the week? We definitely are NOT into country line dancing -- we are more DISCO kings and queens.
sea_u_onboard Posted August 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2004 The dance classes are not long and are quite crowded. They are more along the lines of Saturday Night Fever and Country Line Dacning. If you are really interested in learning ballroom dance check at a local college. My husband always said he was willing to take lessons so I surprised him last Christmas by signing us up - that way he couldn't back out. It wasn't that expensive and the classes are smaller so you can actually lern the steps. Our instructor was fantastic. It gave us a few hours each class (about 5 classes) to just have fun. We try to practice at home so that we are ready for our next cruise in July.
headhurt Posted August 5, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2004 Many colleges and school districts offer "continuing education" in things from painting to potting plants. Most do offer ballroom dance classes, and they are very inexpensive when you compare it to lessons from Art Murray's. Also, some bars offer Salsa Dance Lessons prior to opening for business. It's definitely something worth looking into, salsa dancing is hot HOT HOT!
elvisillusions Posted August 5, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2004 The Conquest capers had ballroom line dancing one sea day... just once. Watch your capers if you want to go...

That's where DH and I began dancing,..........LOL--but watch out it can become habit forming!!!! Spoilt..who now dances at night instead of vegetating on the couch.:D
