as we are new to P&O - hope Im not asking too much :D

- do you have to pay for room service and what does it offer?

- are towels available for the pool and can these be taken off ship?

- for late seating dinner are the shows before/after dinner or a mix?

- for a 15night cruise how many formal/informal nights?

- do they have drinks packages available?

- are AFT balconies slightly larger?

Im sure I will think of others but these are the main ones I have at the moment. Thanks everyone x

Hi Madkitty from MK,

Now these comments are general and not specific to Ventura:-

1 Up till now only on Arcadia you had to pay a small amount. On the others free but gave a tip. We have only had afternoon tea and continental breakfast never been interested in anything else. But on Ventura they are going to offer dinner off the menu on your balcony or so I have read. I bet you have to pay for that. Of course if you have a suite your butler will serve you anything you like.

2 Yes plenty of towels found near pool or in spa area, and Yes you can.

3 The shows follow the dinner sittings, usually 8.45 and 10.45 but remember more than half of dinners will be free style on Ventura.

4 There are usually 4 formal nights on a 14/15 night Caribbean cruise, the rest are smart casual.

5 The only packages on board are for wine at the table. 6 red, 6 white or a mix for £75.00 saving about 15%. We have had these and the wines are of a good standard ie not cheap plonk. Generally the drinks prices are better than on most other lines.

6 They are on Arcadia, not sure about Ventura.

Hope that helps, with regard to the entertainment and dinner sittings then I would imagine that it would be similar to Oceana which also offers open dining. I have not seen anything to suggest that the shows on Oceana were at any different times than on others in the fleet.

brill thanks - what do you mean by 1/2 of the dinners will be freestyle?

As I understand it 2 of the three dining rooms are freestyle ie. you can go at anytime you like for your evening meal and you will be given a table as you arrive. The largest of the dining rooms will be traditional dining where you keep to one table for the whole cruise and have either first or second sitting. It is all in the DVD that was sent out.

It will be the same as Oceana whereas the rest of the fleet are all traditional dining.

Perhaps you would like to have a look at the the thread I started on non P&O types being attracted by Ventura. It is at:-
