Freedom balcony "railings" all glass??

We have friends booked in balcony cabins on Deck 8 on Freedom of the Seas. We think their cabins are under the cantilevered hot tub. I noticed in a couple of photos that the "railings" on those balconies seem to be made of something different. Anyone know if they are still glass, or are they steel for some reason. They are glass too.

I had one of these rooms last year. They are glass with some sort of reflective coating on them. It is hard to see through the glass, even in daylight, because is it almost like a mirror.
