debster818 Posted April 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2007 We want to stay on the ship as long as possible because our flight back home is not until 3:00. Do we self disembark or put our luggage out at night? Also, how long can we expect to remain on the ship until they kick us off. Thanks
cruisinbuddy Posted April 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2007 If you want to stay on then don't self disembark. Just put you bags out the night before and hope that you're the last ones called. You'll probably be off by 10 the latest.
Marinewife05 Posted April 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 11, 2007 You can't stay on the ship too long...I think last call is probably before 10am because they still have to prep the ship for the next cruise.
Richintx Posted April 11, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2007 Put your bags out the night before and just stay in your cabin until the room steward gets the Captin to kick you out. Eat breakfast, don't go to the places they tell you wait at, just stay in the room until the room steward starts to get mad at you. Try to be the last one off. caribbean dreams Posted April 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted April 11, 2007 Put your bags out the night before, when they call your number in the morning, you do not have to get off right then, unless your color is called last. You can stay on the ship until the last color has been called no matter what color you are.

caribbean dreams Posted April 11, 2007 #9 Share Posted April 11, 2007 How does one know which color is last? You don't know what color will be last but they will announce it as the last color and that all passengers must disembark.
frog lover Posted April 13, 2007 #10 Share Posted April 13, 2007 When we were on the Victory they only served breakfast in the buffet untill 8 I think. You can take your own luggage with you and sit up on deck untill they call for the last passengers this way you know where your luggage is. Not too much past 10am.:)
PINEVIEW01 Posted April 13, 2007 #11 Share Posted April 13, 2007 I've been last off a 9 and and first off at 11. And everything in between.
bluefintuna Posted April 13, 2007 #12 Share Posted April 13, 2007 You will probably be asked to leave your cabin, but avoid the masses waiting in the lounges and hallways. I always worried about being sure if my tags were "blue" that I must proceed off immediately. Don't worry, be happy and be the last off. If they forget about you, then go again! karen1225 Posted April 13, 2007 #13 Share Posted April 13, 2007 But, am pardon my ignorance, what if we all wait to be the last off??:) I am being picked up at Port Canaveral and don't know what time to tell them to be at the pier.

GoinCruisin Posted April 13, 2007 #16 Share Posted April 13, 2007 If you do self assist, you MUST get off EARLY. No choice, customs only gives a short window for self assist... so likely around 7am. If you want to get off later, put your luggage out!!!! They will try to get everyone off the ship as soon as possible, since the next group will start boarding around 10:30 (wedding parties, etc)... so do your best to assist them in this :)
RBS8559 Posted April 13, 2007 #17 Share Posted April 13, 2007 All I know is...You don't want to "self disembark" (taking your own luggage). Unless you're willing to carry them up or down stairs! I agree with staying on as long as possible. But let carnival take your luggage off.
ata1976 Posted April 13, 2007 #18 Share Posted April 13, 2007 On our last cruise we self disembarked and were off the ship by 8. My mom and her family didn't self disembark and just put their luggage out the night before. After self disembark they didn't call colors they just said everyone could get off. My mom said they stayed on until they were making announcements like "there are 92 passengers left on the ship. You must disembark now." :p Since you have to scan your funpass when you exit they know if you are still on the ship.
mainer208 Posted April 13, 2007 #19 Share Posted April 13, 2007 We were on the Fascination two weeks ago. Self-debark was called at 7:00 a.m. by deck which we did not do. We took our time at breakfast on Lido. I believe they were serving until 8:30 but many times there was a general call after 7:30 or so. We left around 8:15 and had no waiting at all. We did feel like after the second or third time they announced everyone could leave that they were kicking us off...yes, they were! Take a post-cruise tour if you have a flight at 3. Post-cruise tours on the Fascination met at 8 in a lounge.

(It's our first cruise, so we have a myriad of questions...)
mainer208 Posted April 13, 2007 #21 Share Posted April 13, 2007 On the Fascination and ships out of Miami there are a couple of post-cruise tours including the seaquarium, art deco tour, etc. It's for those people who have late flights. You put your luggage out the night before and then meet at a pre-determined area and time. You are then escorted off the ship to get your luggage. Board a bus and your luggage is taken care of until you get to the airport. I believe the seaquarium tour is for flights after 3:30 and art deco is for flights after 2:30 out of Mia. Think there is a FLL post-cruise tour for art deco as well. It's better than spending your time at the airport and includes transportation. The art deco tour is very flexible. You are pretty much on your own on South Beach and then meet back at a certain time. Great way to enjoy SB, have lunch etc. I remember the seaquarium tour was $35 per person which includes admission. I think regular admission to the seaquarium is $32 per person, so it's a good deal. You can see all of the post-cruise tours on the Carnival website. If you are booked, you can see the prices as well.
