NCL Majesty Room

Has anyone stayed in a superior II interior cabin on Majesty 6000's? Does it have a refrigerator & hairdryer? I understand some rooms are different (for the same cabin type) and offer features that are unique depending where you are on the ship.

I stayed in 6041 last week on the Western Caribbean cruise -- the room does not have a hairdryer or refrigerator. You can get a hairdryer from the guest relations desk - also, be aware that you will definitely want to take a power strip, as there is one US-style outlet at the vanity and a razor-only outlet above the mirror in the bathroom. The room was compact, to say the least, but had adequate storage space (three closets plus a dresser).

Thanks so much for the info! The info on web sites states that the room has both - We are staying across the hall from your room. Not cruising until December - how did you like the ports? Any must sees - it's been years since I was at GC or Cozumel. 1st visit to Key West.

This was my first trip to any of the three ports. Grand Cayman was interesting, Cozumel I really didn't spend much time in except for the catamaran outing and a brief foray to the shops. It was very hot at both these, so probably why I didn't do more exploring.

Key West was lots of fun, though. I bet you'll love it. Plan to spend some time just wandering around the waterfront area. And when the sun goes down, it's a wide-open kind of place! I got some lovely pictures at sunset.

None of the rooms we have ever stayed in on the Majesty didn't have a hair dryer. There is something on the wall in the bathroom that I think is supposed to be a hair dryer. It wasn't even good enough to defog the mirror. We also always bring a power stripe.

i agree with cruiseand... i, once forgot my hairdryer and attempted to use that thing attached to the mirror. after 1/2 hour and one cramped hand (from using that contortion device) (more than once!) i went to robertson's (i digress here...my most favoritist drug store in all the world - liked it better before they remodeled) in bermuda, dropped $48 and i'm still using that hair dryer to this day!:D

Okay I have a great TA - just moved us from 6000 II Interior superior cabin to 4000 because the twin beds were in a fixed position. I think the room was 4029 - anyone have any idea regarding position of cabin or what it offers?

Thanks!

Double check the room number of the new room. I think you may have it wrong. If you had a superior room before and the TA switched you to 4029 then it isn't a superior room anymore and you should get a hefty discount. Although personally I would forgo a discount to make sure that I was still in a superior room. Superior is 145sf and regular room is 108sf. Major difference in size - and believe me, the 108sf room is T-I-N-Y.

When I went on the Majesty I had 145 and my sister had 108. MAJOR difference. Especially if I am understanding the reason for the room change being because the twin beds are fixed that they want a queen bed....

Sis made hers a queen and you had to climb over the bed to get to the area next to it.

We met people who were in a 108 sq. ft. room, and they had the beds pushed together. The person sleeping next to the wall has to get out of bed from the bottom or climb over the other person. The person sleeping on the outside has to climb over the corner of the bottom of the bed to get out also. This room would have more room with the beds left as twins. It is tiny!

We stayed in a 108 sq ft room on deck 6. It was seemed VERY small for two adults. DH and I could not get dressed at the same time.We had twin beds that could have been pushed together, but there was a lot less room that way so we kept them apart. There was NO hairdryer in the room, but you could sign for one at the reception desk.

I loved being on the Casino level but the one thing I did not love about deck 6 is that an oceanveiw room is directly below the running track. Every morning around 6am or so the pounding would begin. The track had posted hours that began at 9am but no one paid any attention to them.

Still love the Majesty and hopefully will sail her again before she's gone, but I will pick and chose our cabin a lot more carefully.

We booked a GTY and got 4030 ! We were pleasantly surprised !! It WAS a 145 sq ft. and could even sleep 4 - (but we didn't need it!) This was definitely in the middle of the ship - added at the time of the stretching !

We were late bookers and pd. under $400, so the value was great !

I used the hair dryer to get the dampness out -- it did get pretty hot to handle - but also brought a hot air brush !

Power strip is a must - Outlets are under mirror at vanity and over mirror in bathroom.

No refrigerator

2 dressers - plenty of closet space (no dress up clothes needed)

I must say, even if you have NEVER been seasick before, get the patch, the bands, and the Dramamine !!

From Charleston down through the Atlantic it was terribly rough ! So much that the ship seemed empty, barf bags were everywhere. The cracking sounds and shaking were very scary (we are experienced cruisers, even one other time out of Charleston!) It took more than 24 hrs just to get as far south as Miami !!

It was difficult at the end of the cruise to find someone who was happy with their experience last week.

GC was also cancelled due to waves and wind!

Got 2 days in Cozumel, a BEACH is a MUST we did PB -- most beautiful water ever ! I wasn't much for the shopping, I was actually dragged into several stores -- did learn to offer next to nothing for items they wanted $35-$40 for ! Got one for $10, another for $12 !

Key West - Historically and Architecturally beautiful !

Sunset from Mallory Square -- heard the Sunset cruise is also nice

Dinner at Capt Mario's Seafood Buffet on Duvall Street - BEST

meal of the WEEK !

Would be glad to address any other questions . . . .

it had the cabinet for one -- but no fridge inside ! We just used it as extra storage space -- I don't know if it was supposed to be there or not ! Our room stewards were great at keeping our ice bucket filled and we drank water and brought a few bottles of that new Lipton Green Tea !

We are booked on the Sept. 2 sailing on the Magesty. We will be in Room 602. Has anyone had these forward facing rooms (601-606)? On the floor plans they look quite a bit larger then the average superior outside room.

One thing that worries me about this room is that Fireworks Bar is directly below - will that be a problem?

I realize in high seas this one will rock more because of being up front.

Any information would be helpful.

Thanks,

Pete

  • 2 weeks later...

I am in 4028 (superior inside) after the wonderful comments and suggestions I did not dare booking the smaller cabins! According to the deck plan site above it is 145 sq. feet. I am interested to hear more about the motion sickness that was experienced - December weather seems to be worse than this time of year. On the NCL Jewel - I was in a suite on the 11th floor with 12+ seas and the ship was rocking and rollling for the first few days. Want to make sure I am prepared for my next journey.
