Pashapug Posted April 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Sailing on the Royal Princess from Venice on June 25. We're very excited (we think we'll really enjoy the "small" ship) and are trying to reserve our shore excursions. But for most of the excursions offered during the first half of the voyage, the web site says "Details for this shore excursion are not available at this time." Hmmm...is this typical? Also...anyone know what times the entertainment shows usually start on Princess ships? Trying to decide whether to eat early or late! Thanks! Rare annmarz Posted April 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted April 16, 2007 I am on this cruise too. Re the unposted shore excursions: these ports are "new" and Princess hasn't gone to them regularly in the past so it is taking them longer to arrange the tours. No worries. I am sure they will be up soon. I have encountered this on past cruises also. Usually, shows start around 8:15 and 10:00, but this can vary. Sometimes they will have a super-early show for late sitting also.
Jill SC Posted April 16, 2007 #3 Share Posted April 16, 2007 Princess generally runs the shows twice so that early and late dinner can see them.
Pam in CA Posted April 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted April 17, 2007 Since the Royal Princess has only one dining room, which is Traditional dining, the show times are planned around those seating times. I wouldn't worry about making it to a show. It's not unusual to have some port shore excursions unavailable. I'm on a HAL cruise in July and all of the port excursions aren't available yet. BTW, the HAL website is really uninformative and unhelpful compared to Princess. My friend and I are going nuts trying to get information and book tours for our cruise.
