Bus safe in St. Martin?

My DH and I will be in St. Martin next week on the Valor. Can we safely take the bus from Phillipsburg to Marigot or should we rent a taxi? Can't sleep, the cruise is less than a week away!:D

We have taken the bus from Phillipsburg to Marginot a couple of times. It was very inexpensive, I think about $1.50 or so per person, and a fun way to see some of the island. We felt safe doing this and will probably do it again in August when we will be there.
