Phone Service on Board

I've learned from my cell provider (cingular) that there is service while the ship (NCL Dawn specifically) is at sea. Has anyone actually used their cell and had service while out there?

 

I'm leaving kids at home and would LOVE to have the option of keeping in touch by cell.

we just got back from a cruise 3 weeks ago and thank goodness there was service at sea we had quite a dilema at home requiring us to call almost every hour and there was no problem with singular.

I used my Verizon phone on NOS last month with no problem. However, the roaming charge was $2.49/min............
