Anyone Have experience with Sunset Beach Resort and Sandals near the Carnival Cruise Port at Montego Bay? We are coming in on Carnival Conquest on May 2nd and wondered about the beaches at both places. 2 couples and one of the ladies is not into Snorkling, etc. Appreciate the help, we are new to this site. Blessings to you for the reply.

I have been to both resorts. Sandals is the BEST place on Earth to stay at. For one day just to spend on the beach eating and drinking- I'd go to Sunset Beach Resort. You are only there a limited time and sure Sandals is the best but you are paying for a day pass to drink and use pools and lunch. I would never pay what Sandals wants for that limited of a time unless I had never been to one and wanted to check it out for a future 7 day stay. Sunset is really nice. We loved it there. Price wise for one day I'd do Sunset.

Sandals is awesome for gormet evening dining and ultra - awesome service. You can never go wrong there but my advice for one day is Sunset.

We went to Sunset Beach on our December, 2005 cruise and we loved it.

It costs $40 and that included food, drinks and all activities. They had great showers and dressings rooms so that we could get cleaned up prior to leaving the resort.

As a previous poster said, the snorkeling wasn't world class but it wasn't awful either.

Hey TX, how was the water in Dec? We are going there in Jan 07. Friends went to HI in Jan and said water is cold. I know J. is closer to equator, so should be warm. Please tell me yes!

Friends went to sunset 2 yrs ago Jan and loved it. kids, adults, and grandparents all went.

We have cruised twice in December and the water was warm both times. We snorkel and scuba dive often and have never been cold in the Caribbean.

Have a great cruise!
