Has anyone missed their flight after a cruise?

If so why, what happened and how did you get home? Trying to decide if I should risk an early flight.

When my son and DIL went on their honeymoon, disembarkation was delayed several hours because some bonehead tried bringing in drugs he got in Jamaica. They had a 2:30 flight and were OK, but they said that many people were there trying to rebook, having to pay a lot extra.

I wouldn't recommend scheduling a flight before noon. No one gets off the ship until everyone has cleared immigration and sometimes there are problems. We barely made our 12:20 flight last time, several others on our cruise missed their flightsand had an awful time making arrangements- mostly because of missed connections.

Everyone seems to give the same advice not to take a chance on an 'early' flight. Will keep looking for a more reasonable option. Thanks

Donna; lets just say you did book an ealry flight (what time we talking here?) aand you do miss it (how many in your party) all the people that are flyin gout the same day as the cruise... not verymany open spots available- you may have to stay in overnight if that happens.

 

Dont you have to pay more money if you are not there in time for your flight?

 

 

If you are talking like 11am...that may be do-able--if you are looking at 8 or 9 am forget it--you wont make those planes.

BEST RULE OF THUMB no matter where flying out of after a cruise......

 

NOTHING BEFORE NOON TO 1:00 PM......

 

It's just not worth the stress/possible costs after a GREAT cruise !!!
