Snorkel with turtles from the beach

You do not need to take an excursion to snorkel with the turtles. While recently in Barbados's, my wife wanted a beach day. I wanted to snorkel, so we decided on going to the beach where the turtles can be found.

This is the same spot that all the catamaran's go. They feed the turtles so you really have no problem finding them. It was cool swimming around with them, I took loads of pictures. I'm a good swimmer and had no problems going back and forth from the beach to the boats. I did so 3 times that day, swimming around for a good 45 minutes each time. Maybe a 100 yard swim.

Other than the turtles, there's nothing for the snorkel to see but sand and a few fish.

We took a cab to the Blue Monkey ($20), and rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for $15. We brought our own cold ones, but there is a bar right there for refreshments.

The beach is okay, not great. The locals do bug you for buying things, renting jet skis, etc.

We would do it again.
