Mothers day idea's?

I was wondering if anyone had any idea's on how to make Mothers day special? We cruise on Oceania Regatta and our stop on that day will be at Portoferraio (Elba), Italy. Is there anything that the ships do on that day or anything special in Elba I can take my wife to? Any and all idea's are welcomed, Thanks in advance.

The date of Mother's Day is specific to each country in which it is celebrated, so it may not even be Mother's Day on the day you are in Elb. Personally I would just declare the entire cruise in celebration of Mother's Day. That should cover it! LOL!

I haven't been on a ship on Mother's Day and haven't been to Elba, but I think that some type of a spa treatment would be a nice "treat" on Mother's Day.

It was March 18th this year. Agree that a massage would be a wonderful gift, but the locals and the crew of the Regatta will be oblivious to the date. For some strange reason, Fathers Day is the same everywhere, but in Europe they tie the date of Mothers Day to Lent so it bounces around like Easter.

not true....here in Holland mothers day is always on the second sunday in May. And I am sure the same is for Belgium and I think also Germany.....

Ooops, Mothers Day was March 18 in England and I guess I assumed all of Europe was in step. Leave it to a Brit to get things wrong. Sorry.
