motorcycle/scooter rental

Does anyone know a place that offers motorcycle rentals? My husband and are looking to do some sightseeing with some beach time, but want the freedom to go where we want to go. We want to get away from the touristy areas.

 

Any suggestions on where to go?

Several places downtown offer scooter rentals. You can find them along Shedden Road by the KFC or right on Harbour Drive next to Elmslie Memorial Church.

I always caution potential island moped riders.

 

You may ride a Harley 100 miles a day. But you probably don't:

 

drive on "the other side of the road"

 

experience 'traffic circles AND left hand driving'

 

experience a LOT of sand on the road

 

island driving :eek:

 

while having NO idea where you are going (gonna be reading a map?)

 

and a zillion tourists also not used to the reversed rules hence stepping out into the road, driving on the wrong side yada yada

the 'organization' I belong to finally said "enough" ... "while visiting you will NOT rent motor bikes. PERIOD. If you do and you get hurt - we don't cover it." Too many people hurt...... I never liked making those phone calls.

 

You may be 'Easy Rider' but odds are you ain't familiar with island rules

 

rent a car...... much safer :)

Thanks for the tip! Know any good places to rent a car? How much will that run? Any other info would be appreciated!
