Tipping for snorkel trip

Recommended Posts

Planning on taking a snorkeling trip while in Cozumel and I was wondering what would be considered a reasonable tip for the tour operator(s). There will be 4 of us... myself, wife and 2 teenagers.

Also, I am researching several different tour operators. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Depending on length and service, anywhere between $5 - $20 p/person. if it's a ship's tour, aka, cattle boat, ten bucks for the whole family would be enough.

A private operator with ten or fewer others on board I tip the higher rate. The low end for a single/two stop. The higher end for a two/three stop w/lunch.
