Kapin777 Posted May 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 3, 2007 Will be sailing on the RCL’s Mainer of the Seas on July 22. We’re planning on staying at a hotel in Port Canaveral the night before. Does anyone have any suggestions on cheap taxi or shuttle services from Orlando Airport (MCO) to Port Canaveral?
skyking Posted May 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 3, 2007 What do u consider cheap?? How many people??
LouisvilleDon Posted May 3, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 3, 2007 I know that we rent a car and turn it in at the Port Canaveral rental office and they shuttle you to the ship. We have used Thrifty and Budget. I think it a little cheaper to rent a car and then you can use for the day and we rent again on the return trip to MCO. We will be doing this in October when we sail on the Mariner. Some people use Art's Shuttle and there are others. Later, :) Don
auggiemom Posted May 3, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 3, 2007 We booked with happy limo we have not used them yet. However, on another cruise critic board someone recommended them. We actually booked a limo, but they do also offer just a regular shuttle.
amybear912 Posted May 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 3, 2007 We sail out of PC frequently... we've stayed at Radisson Resort at the Port and had a great experience... they have a shuttle over to the pier , nice pool area... Country Inn and Suites is also nice, i've heard, and a little cheaper... We used SpacePort Transport and they were really good... Here's a website with good PC information... Enjoy the Mariner... she's awesome! http://www.portcanaveral.org/portinfo/groundtrans.htm
Kapin777 Posted May 3, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted May 3, 2007 there is only 2 of us...i dont really know what I consider cheap. I always sail out of Fl. Launderdale or Miami, so I dont really know what a 'good deal' is to port canaveral.
elleluv Posted May 3, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 3, 2007 The least expensive way to get from MCO to Port Canaveral is to rent a car... We use Budget, they have a desk at the airport at MCO and an office close to the Port. There is a shuttle that takes you from the Budget office to the Port. You can generally find a discount code here... www.mousesavers.com. It typically costs us around $40 each direction.
Apoggi Posted May 3, 2007 #8 Share Posted May 3, 2007 Pay for a transfer from airport to pier and pier to airport from RCI. It is the cheapest way to go. The time flies and you sit back and let the bus driver do the driving.
love2travel826 Posted May 3, 2007 #9 Share Posted May 3, 2007 We are booked through www.tropicanatransport.com. I talked to the owner and he was very nice and very informative. They also give you a discount if you book online as well. :)
Ferquan Posted May 3, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 3, 2007 When we fly in to Orlando, we always use Cocoa Beach Suttle. They're located at A-15 in the north terminal and B-13 in the south terminal. Very reasonable price, and you can get a round-trip ticket. Even if you decide to stay over night in PC or Cocoa Beach, these guys will get you to your hotel. Many hotels in Cocoa Beach do the shuttle to the port, you just need to call them. If you haven't already picked a place to stay that has a port shuttle, try the Quality Suites (800-228-5151). About $120 - $140 per night.
joetrizeo Posted May 4, 2007 #11 Share Posted May 4, 2007 avoid RC transfers. rent a car is the best way to go for just 2. 30-40 bucks, no problem. avis, thrifty, budget, hurtz, etc. sub compact fits 2 suitcases in the trunk and 2 in the back seat no prob. J-bear Posted May 4, 2007 #12 Share Posted May 4, 2007 I just made reservations to use Sunrise Florida Transportation. From Orlando airport to Port Canaveral is $140/RT for up to 4 people. This is in a private town car. It's the cheapest price I've found for a private towncar. We're coming in a day early so this will be pick-up from MCO to our hotel in Cocoa Beach, pickup the following week from the port back to MCO. RuthlessBoss Posted May 4, 2007 #13 Share Posted May 4, 2007 If you do the rental car option, don't worry about getting around, it is a straight shot from airport to Canaveral and lighted signs to tell you ahead of time which terminal you are going to. When you go over the last bridge, look to your left and your heart will start flip flops as you see all the ships in port at that time.
