Returning to Civitavecchia

Recommended Posts

I know that the ship (Galaxy) arrives back in port - Civitavecchia-at 4:30 am. Does anyone know what time we can actually clear customs and leave the ship? We have a morning flight out of Rome and are trying to arrange transportation to the airport. I have called Celebrity and have received several different answers....any help would be wonderful! Thanks.

What's the port before you call Civitavecchia and what's your nationality?

HeinBloed,

If a US citizen (this is for a Holland America Line Cruise), is going from Tunis to Palermo Sicily, to Naples, to Civitavecchia, we would clear customs on Sicily since we would be coming from North Africa, correct?

The ship will cleared already with entry in Palermo.

So in Naples and Civitavecchia you should be able to leave the ship very soon once it arrived.

In Palermo it could take a little extra time before Non-EU-residents' passport will be returned to the purser. That MIGHT but not MUST be that EU-residents can go earlier from board in Palermo.

It's only roughly for your personal shore excursion plannings.

Thanks! We have a CC group excursion planned in Palermo. We have allowed an hour from docking but I will notify the tour guide just in case there is a problem.

We are from the U.S.

Our ship is in Naples the night before. We keep getting different answers about what time we can actually leave the ship. It arrives in port at 4:00 am. Our flight is at 11:30 am.

Thanks for your help!

Your ship SHOULD be cleared already in Naples (or ahead) the night before.

Therefore there should be a quick disembarquement possible once you arrive in Civitavecchia.

Good luck!
