Kevin & Brenda Posted May 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2007 Does anyone have experience with NCL transfers in London. Where were the NCL people, baggage claim? If yes which terminal? Was it a long wait before the bus leaves? Is the ride to Dover scenic at all?
calmac Posted May 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2007 We had an NCL transfer from Heathrow to Dover last summer. We had a domestic UK flight so arrived at Terminal 1. The NCL people were very visible just as you came through the doors from baggage reclaim. I would expect it to be similar at the other terminals as there were definitely transfers from the other terminals too. It is an OK journey but nearly all of it is on motorway so not very scenic. We got held up in traffic which is not unusual so it can be quite long. We had taken some bottles of water and sandwiches with us which certainly helped but there was a stop made on the journey. The bus departed just outside Terminal 3 and we had about a 20 minute wait to board the next bus. Not an exceptionally scenic ride. Once you clear the congested motorways by London it is nice country side
cruisequeen10 Posted May 9, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 9, 2007 We took the train from downtown London and is was breathtaking. Of course it was the commuter train so stopped at every stop. To think that some commute 1 1/2 to 2 hours to work. Of course we have a commuter train here but the most is 70 minutes that you are on it. I would highly recommend this to anyone. At least in the 2 1/2 hour trip you can get up and walk around. The downside is where do you store your luggage. We had to put it in the upper racks and when we got to Dover, we were almost the last ones off, so had to lug the suitcases down ourselves.
