Avis pickup near Skagway dock?

First, it isn't across from the railroad depot anymore - it's a block further away, in the Westmark Hotel across the street from the lobby. On the map at http://skagway.com/citymap.html it's at 3rd & Spring, where the bathroom icon is on 3rd (the map is 100 feet wrong about that, too). A few blocks from your ship, depending on which docking position you're at.

As I was making my last rounds on these boards for my cruise this weekendI continue to find out info. that I need (I'm renting a car in Skagway and had the wrong information as to where to pick up the car). Thanx to all. The info. that I find out on the boards is really invaluable to preparing for a cruise.

As Murray said, its at 3rd & Spring. Depending on where your ship docks (there are usually 2 in a row at the dock where the train line ends, and another one or two on the adjacent dock) you will be between 3 and 6 blocks from Avis. It's perfectly flat, and will not take you more than 15 minutes' stroll.

A stroll?? Well, we aren't much for walking! My DW tried turning in the car and then walking back to the ship and she found it a pretty good trek! So it depends on how fit you are and how much you walk.

There are frequent shuttles to downtown from the dock and they just cost a couple of bucks. They will drop you off right next to Avis.

Have a GREAT cruise!
