stuNYC Posted May 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2007 We are celebrating our 30th anniversary on the Crown. I traditionally buy my wife a dozen roses on our anniversary. We have booked a suite which comes with flowers. Would ordering a dozen roses onboard on the day of our anniversary be overkill. Do I have to order pre-sail I also see that I can go to the Lotus thermal spa. Is that a sauna. Has anyone dined in their room for supper. Is it worth the surcharge Has anyone bought the renewal of vows package. Is it worth it? Anything thing that I should know about the crown that you experienced cruisers especially like, that I might not find on my own Is there a lounge where you can smoke cigars Sorry for all the questions. idcruisers Posted May 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2007 I haven't been on the Crown, but on Grand Class ships there is often a dining room open on embarkation day. You have to ask which one, or look carefully in your patter when you get to your room. It is not at all crowded and is a great way to start a cruise instead of fighting the crowds at buffet. Happy Anniversary and have a great cruise!!!
Toto2Kansas Posted May 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2007 If you have booked a full suite, then it is up to you if you book the ultimate balcony dinner. But, you will be able to dine in your room for any meal with no problem. For lunch and dinner, you will be able to order off the dining room menu, breakfast there will be an extended menu, just write in something if you don't see what you want (this is only offered in full suites now), each morning the menus will be changed in your suite to reflect the offerings in the dining room for that day. Flowers you can order at any time during your cruise, the Princess Patter will list where and the hours it is open for ordering. If you always buy her a dozen roses, then I would go ahead and continue the tradition. There will be a flower arrangement in your suite, but it won't be just roses, it is usually a tropical type of arrangement. Plenty of room for more than one flower arrangement. You can never get enough flowers! :)
MercedMike Posted May 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 12, 2007 Toto answered most of your questions. I agree with her completely. The flower guys on board are nice and I like to surprise DW with a rose now and then. The Thermal Suite is great. The only lack in Princess Thermal Suites is that they do not have the windows, but they are a really great place to relax! Check out http://www.elite.net/~thehalls/thermal.html Have a GREAT cruise. Colo Cruiser Posted May 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 12, 2007 We have sailed the Crown twice.... We are celebrating our 30th anniversary on the Crown. I traditionally buy my wife a dozen roses on our anniversary. We have booked a suite which comes with flowers. Would ordering a dozen roses onboard on the day of our anniversary be overkill. Do I have to order pre-sail It is a pretty large beautiful arrangemant that you will find in the cabin. You could order the roses later in the cruise? I also see that I can go to the Lotus thermal spa. Is that a sauna. Has anyone dined in their room for supper. Is it worth the surcharge Not aware of a charge for eating in your suite. Unless you do the UBD. Has anyone bought the renewal of vows package. Is it worth it? Anything thing that I should know about the crown that you experienced cruisers especially like, that I might not find on my own Crown Grill is a must, the best live maine lobster and filet that I have ever had. Fanastic atmosphere. I have done Sabatinis several times but not my cup of tea. Is there a lounge where you can smoke cigars Yes speakeasy cigar lounge adjacent to the casino. Also in the wake view bar, accessible through Club Fusion at the rear of the dance floor and down the stairs. Sorry for all the questions.
