Snorkeling in St. Thomas or St. Maarten?

My husband and I enjoyed snorkeling in Grand Cayman on our last cruise that we want to do it again. Now we need to choose between St. Thomas and St. Maarten. Which would be the better place to do this? Any recommendations of beaches or tours that would take us out? We've also thought about trying snuba too. Any opinions on this?

Thanks!

Snorkeled in St. Thomas at Sapphire Beach. Reef just offshore. Took cab from cruise docks for 10.00/ person. Not to crowded beach in front of resort. Used there restrooms . Would go there again on next cruise. Hope that helps.

Hands down, anorkeling on St Thomas is far superior to St Martin (or Marteen). The latter is actually only poor to fair.

St Thomas is excellent. Most boat trips will go to St John. Usually to Honeymoon Beach, but there are other options.

From St Thomas You can ferry to St John for beach snorkeling. The most popular are Cinnamon and Trunk Bay. There's also good shore snorkeling on St Thomas. Coki Beach, adjacent to Coral World, is very popular with snorkelers and divers.
