So when you get off the boat, Can you walk to shopping and the beach or do you have to take a taxi to those areas?

There is very little shopping at the terminal at MoBay. personally I would not feel safe walking from the terminal to any where in MoBay. I would encourage you to contact one of the guides that are recommended on these boards. There are several with high recommendations.....just read

I was just there in April. You may shop at the port terminal but it is more expensive than the downtown souvenir shops. It is quite a walk to get there. You should take a taxi. There is no beach within walking distance. Take a Taxi to doctor's cave beach or book excursions through a local tour company. We used www.a-zjamaicaplanners.com . The driver met us in an air conditioned van and stay with us all day. For the 3 of us, it was only $138. We went to Mayfield Falls, Doctors Cave Beach, shopping and to the Pork Pit (lunch cost was not included) for this price.
