How do you rank the Carnival Glory?

Recommended Posts

We took the glory october2005. Shes a wonderful ship. Very good food, crew were very helpful, entertainment was great...can`t think of anything negative about her. It was our first cruise, so far the best too. Took the Triumph last july. It was a smaller ship, shorter trip, but to start out on a 7 night & then going to a 4 night, i`ll take a 5 to 7 night over 4 night anytime.

I am taking a cruise to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Belize and Nassau on 9/22 aboard the Carnival Glory. Has anyone taken this trip or been on the Glory and what did you think?

Hello,

I took this cruise last year. You could not beat it for the money. The Glory is a beautiful ship and is very colorful. The food choices in the dining room menu were great and had something for everyone. The staterooms were larger then most of the cruiseships that I have been on.Hope that you have a great time!!!!

We did this cruise in January and loved every minute of it. The ports of call are all wonderful except Nassau. The food was great and more than enough options to keep busy or to relax. You will love it.

I thank you said it all

Just sailed her in April and we were very pleased; no complaints. Food, service, and cleanliness were as good as I expected. Our steward was wonderful as was our wait staff in the dining room. We did same itinerary except instead of Nassau we did Freeport. I love the Western itinerary

With that said, I do prefer the layout of the Spirit class ships better. :)

WOW, it is amazing how people can have such differant experiances! I will be the odd person out and say that I did NOT enjoy the Glory in Jan '07(as much as my other cruises). I will explain but let me say any cruise is better than being at home w/ all the responsibilities and every cruise is what you make of it!

However, compared to other cruises (including 2 months later on Triumph) I found Glory to be "ho hum" The food I did not find as good, the staff NOT interactive or fun, they actually closed down the club on a nite before a sea day (staff party we were told) cabin steward refused to replace glasses in our room, the casino people were unfriendly....well you get the picture!

These are just my experiances (along w/ 10 other people I hung out with) If you look at my previous posts I'm not really a complainer.

The ports however were awesome, and unlike my cruise mate ballinafad (wish we had met), I loved Nassua. So there you go all differant experiances:) I didn't get to see Belize it was raining and maybe I missed something but seemed like a wasted port (I'm told it was great) Costa Maya I fell in love with and am seriously thinking about getting land there, and Cozumel is just plain fun!

I'd say go...go on the Glory, and go to those ports, have a great time and maybe you will have a differant story to tell. I just wanted to add my 2 cents....and point out everyones experiance is sooo differant:)

Myssie, I think you were planning to go with us cavetubing and ziplining with Cynthia and Nacho but were told that the excursion was cancelled, is that right. That was the highlight of our cruise. We also loved Costa Maya (went to Majahual) and Paradise Beach in Cozumel.

We sailed on the Glory almost a year ago and got hooked on cruising. It was wonderful...from the ship to the food to the staff to the ports. Our favorite ports were Cozumel and Belize. Plan on doing some kind of excursion in Costa Maya...there's not much close to the pier.

Any cruise would be great (some just more than others).

I would have to agree though that there are certain parts of the ship that are harder to get to than others...you can't get there from here kind of thing.

We sailed the Glory over Super Bowl weekend and the following week to the Eastern Caribbean. Also we have been on her sister ship, the Conquest. We absolutely loved the ship. Food was excellent. I was not crazy about the dancers and shows as I have seen better on other ships. The cruise director, Wee Jimmy is great. We loved him. The entire trip was one I would repeat again. I would highly recommend the Glory. Travelgirl

I was on Glory on March of 2005. I did not care for the ship's decor and did not enjoy the food or service.

The stadium seating at the pool area made it feel extremely crowded as did the rest of the ship. It is simply not suitable for the numbers they pack on board.

I enjoyed the supper club and was happy to dine there 3 of 7 nights to enjoy a quiet meal with good food and service.

It is LOUD in every way...not my cup of tea and never again. I'd rank it in the bottom 10% of all my cruises (along with Fantasy and Inspiration).

I absolutely agree! Go on it and find out for yourself. Everyone has different taste. Like they say different strokes for different folks LOL!

As you can see from her reviews she is doing something right. Looks like most people like her. And the ones that don't.....well you can't be surprised LOL!

Go and have a wonderful time.

By the way....I would sail her again:)

Hello, we just returned on Saturday from a seven day cruise on the Glory. It was our first time cruising and we had a great time on this ship. We found the staff on board to be extremely helpful and friendly. I think the only complaint that we had at first is the ability to maneuver around the ship. Even though we had a card showing the decks and such we had a hard time getting from one point to the next. After a couple of days we figured out how to maneuver around. We are not fancy food eaters but had fun trying out new dishes in the dining rooms. You can find out each day what is bein offered in the dining rooms by turning on a tv channel in your room and they list the foods being offered and a description of the foods being prepared. We tried new foods we normally would not order at regular restaurants just because they are usually expensive.

The buffet always had a nice selection of food and the service was very good. Maybe because this was our first cruise that we were just impressed with everything . The week seemed to go fast and we were busy doing fun things. We really enjoyed going to anything that Wee Jimmy hosted. He is the funniest person and we laughed so much at him.

I guess I could go on and on about the ship so if you have more questions you could e-mail me and I would be happy to tell you of our experience. Everyone has their own opinions on here. Ours was good.
