snbptrsn Posted May 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted May 26, 2007 Hi. We're headed for Alaska in July on the PEARL. Any chance the pools are heated on the Alaska Cruises? The kids HAVE to know! Thanks.
7SeasLover Posted May 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted May 26, 2007 Pools are heated. Still, folks would get out of the water and put on large coats. It was cold when we were there.
KeystoneCruiser Posted May 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted May 27, 2007 We did the same itinerary that you are doing in 2005 on the Star. My daughter was able to use the pool the first two days out of Seattle, then it became too cold.
7SeasLover Posted May 27, 2007 #4 Share Posted May 27, 2007 After Seattle I didn't see anyone in the pools - those who dared to get into the water were in the spa and they went from spa to jackets when they got out.
DebC85 Posted May 27, 2007 #5 Share Posted May 27, 2007 There was more kids swimming in the hot tubs than the pool! :)
7SeasLover Posted May 27, 2007 #6 Share Posted May 27, 2007 Yes, there were. Gutsy little tykes! I didn't see many kids on the trip, but there were a few. I have such great memories of that trip. Now trying to find a place to have the near 700 photos developed! Was great spending time with you at the bowling function! :)
KeystoneCruiser Posted May 27, 2007 #7 Share Posted May 27, 2007 Yes, there were. Gutsy little tykes! I didn't see many kids on the trip, but there were a few. Kids don't seem to mind the cold water as much as us adults! My daughter loves to swim and she is having me fill our pool today! I told her it will be too cold to swim for a couple of days....she stepped in it as it was begining to fill today....said "its not cold!" I put my foot in and went screaming due to the frozen foot that I now have...:D !

ute_fan Posted May 28, 2007 #10 Share Posted May 28, 2007 I was surprised at how many kids WERE using the pools on our cruise this week. I talked with one brave one who came down the slide as I walked by, and he said it was great. Not my idea of fun, but they were heated.
