using the link provided-- and look at this thread i posted with the menus from the 6 day-- you can then find out what was changed.

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=340472&highlight=carnival+menu

But these are from the 6 day-- the last day is for the 8 day cruise.

Example-- when we are leaving on the 6 day cruise it starts with that first menu.

the 8 day cruise leaves on saturday and will start out with the Saturday menu (which is posted almost last)

Thank you!:)

i see you are on the very first sailing of the new liberty six day itinerary-- so i cant even ask you to let me know when formal nights will be since we will be getting on as you are getting off.

We will be at the pier ultra early as my son is getting married on the 25.

I am really hoping they change the formal nights til tuesday and thursday--

My wife and I will be on the Liberty on 4 Nov 2007 - it will be the first ever cruise for us, and also our first vacation alone since the kids started coming 9 years ago. I can't wait!

Acromom-

FOUND IT! I found the picture of the hair dryer with the thick rubberband around it. Seems as though many people say it's a "must" to bring a fat rubberband to hold that button in while you dry your hair with the hair dryer that is provided in your cabins.

I KNEW I had seen it in the last few days on this board! :)

Hope this helps! Thanks!

This is my rubberband.. I have it already packed for My SECOND Liberty cruise!

No Carpal tunnel for me..

oh mi-- i love you people. first time cruisers are the best.. Since you come to cruise critic-here is the best advice for you-- those waiters walking around the pool drinks-- those drinks will cost you 6.96 plus gratutity. (waiter wont tell you that until you take your first sip-)

the way the drinks are presented is made to seem they are free.

really?? so lobster isnt served on formal nights no longer?

I am beginning to think that is a true statement. On my last two cruises the lobster was served on the first night. I thought it was just a fluke on the Triumph since it was a New Year's sailing - but then the Sensation served Lobster the first night too. I thought that was strange. We had the Beef Wellington on Formal night  . I really like the alternative menu BTW!! :D

Congrats! Hubby and I did the same thing a year ago. I am now fully addicted and have become a bonefide cruise pusher. I have even got my oldest daughter hooked. I am sure you will have a wonderful time!

Hi gang-

Just updating the thread with a small piece of info.

I never knew that Carnival offered Caffeine Free Diet Coke.....I found that out per another thread that I was reading. I thought it might come in handy on this thread, in case anyone ever wanted to know. Here is the link to the original thread:

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=565631

It sounds like it's available but that you have to pay for it (like any soda on board) and that they sometimes run out before the end of the cruise, depending on the demand for it.

Anyone else have any good Carnival Liberty info to inject into this thread? Thanks!

Are the pools open while the ship is in port? I remember a Carnival cruise I went on many years ago, the pool was empty more often than it was full of water. We'd really like to relax by the pools rather than check out all the ports.

I have a stupid question about the big screen by the pool during the day. Do you wear headphones while watching the movie or does it broadcast on speakers? I like the band/music playing. I'd rather not listen to a TV show/movie while I'm not watching it. Just need to know so I'll be sure not to forget my iPod charger.

There are no headphones. During the day, however, most of the videos (nature videos, surfers, etc.) didn't have sound, so they didn't interfere with the band. They will broadcast some of the deck games on the screen, but not while the band's performing - also, there's a morning program by the cruise director that's broadcast on the big screen. The movies take place late afternoon/evening, when folks are generally done with the pools.

Haven't had much previous luck w/ adding images to a posting, but I'm going to give it another whirl. This is a picture of the Lido deck when it is completely empy (well, almost) prior to the embarkation of passengers. I never saw it this way again - was pretty cool.

DJ Eddy: Adding a picture of your upcoming "home away from home", the Hot & Cool Disco. Sounds like you'll be replacing the current DJ Romanoff. Here's hoping your contract on the great ship will be a wonderful time. Enjoy!!

After looking at the deck plans for the Conquest class ships, some might be wondering just how 'obstructed' the view is for those four cabins on Main Deck (2446, 2449, 2450 & 2453). It's because of the positioning of that contraption they roll back and forth for painting and window cleaning. It actually only blocks the view of one cabin at a time on either side of the ship, but since there's no exact stopping position, seems CCL decided to go ahead and list both neighboring cabins as obstructed view. Even if it's directly in front of the window, it's a heck of a lot better than those cabins on some ships that have an entire life boat blocking total view.
