Cabin next to gangway ?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone ever stayed in a cabin next to the Gangway ?

We are in the cabin which, on closer inspection of photos of the ship, is right next to the gangway on deck 4.

I am just worried that we will hear all the people talking as they are waiting to disembark and whether the constant beeping of the computer checking passengers in and out will start to get to us.

Do they have a policy of alternating port/starboard, fore, mid and aft doors, or is it just how the dock dictates ?

We are on a Baltic cruise on the Dream, so will it always be the low deck or do they use the higher doors at some ports ?

Or is it a good spot because

a) no queuing to get off, it's right at your door.

b) you can drop your things at your cabin as soon as you bet on then straight to the bar.

Otherwise, the cabin is in a great spot as it is near the elevators to go up to Terraces.

I am seriously thinking of upgrading to a higher deck if this is a likely problem. Some of the excursions will be leaving very early and you can't expect that people will be quiet whilst waiting to disembark.
