Using the PoolHot Tub on Star on Alaska Cruises

Is the pool/hot tub area covered on the Star's Alaska cruises? If not, are they usable or is it just too cold?

Outdoor pool and hot tubs are not covered. You can use the pool the first couple of days but then it is too cold. People used the hot tubs all week. There is an indoor pool in the spa area, but there is a daily charge to use it.

the pool was nice in prince rupert. it was down right hot that day.

We were on the Star June/July 04 and my kids swam outside everyday. The air was cool but the water was warm as long as they were in it. They enjoyed the water slides with goosebumps! There were quite a few kids swimming. Most days were in mid 60 temp range.

Just came back from the Star yesterday. Saw a few in the hot tub but don't remember seeing anyone in the pool.

I was on the Sun last week and used the hot tub once, it didn't quite seem hot enough for how cold and windy it was outside. We had to grab our towels and run inside, it was so cold. Not too many people out there.

I've cruised Alaska once in May and twice in September. In May it was rainy and cold. Both times in September it was warm, the pools and hot tubs were full and we wore shorts in port. Like many places the weather is unpredictable. I'd bring a swim suit just in case.
