Distance from Port of Miami to Airport

I was wondering approximately how many miles and how long it takes to get from the Port of Miami to the Airport in Miami once you're in a cab.

The ride from the airport to the port is about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Not sure how many miles it is.

 

The taxi fares are regulated - when you go outside after getting your luggage, you have to get in line at the taxi stand, but the line moves quickly. It's much faster to take a cab than the ship transfers, as you have to wait until the bus fills up before it leaves for the port. It's also cheaper.
