Noise under the galley??

Mariann,

We are on the Sensation the week before in E175. I had the same ?. The responses ranged from, "just a little noise, you"ll be fine" to "I would change rooms if you can". Tried to change rooms. We are sailing with another couple who are in e173. They did not have any other rooms near each other on the same deck. So we will just bring a fan for the noise/air circulation, and hope for the best. ;)

We were in E172 on Imagination back in June. I'm pretty sure it is the same layout as Sensation. I knew when I booked that it was under the galley...I think I also asked but didn't get much response. I don't recall hearing any noise from above. There was a crew door right across from ours. It had metal along the floor of the doorway. Every morning I was awakened by the crew rolling carts and big bins of towels out the door and across the metal. I am a very light sleeper and to me it was LOUD. It didn't bother my husband but woke me up. Otherwise I really liked the location of the cabin b/c it was so close to the stairs and only one deck up to the dining room entrance and couple of decks up to the casino. I wouldn't stress too much about the noise. There's prob. more potential of you hearing the noise from that crew door if it's the same as Imagination. You don't see the door on the deck plan but you can tell there is an open space across from those oceanview rooms and no cabins there.

You're welcome. :) It's not often that when you have a pretty specific question that you can get someone who can answer. I was excited when I clicked on the post to see that I actually had some helpful information for someone.

Did you book a guarantee? Just wondering about your upgrade. I really like the Empress deck. We stayed in oceanviews on Empress on both our Carnival cruises. On our upcoming Sensation cruise we're trying inside on the Main Deck, so we'll see how that goes. Maybee someday I'll gamble with a guarantee.

I'll post a review of Sensation when I get back!

cantwait2cruise, I did book a guarantee. We had a little problem with our booking and they ended up upgrading us and giving us a small onboard credit.

I just found out our cabin number today.Looking forward to your review.Have fun!! :) Mariann

We booked an OV guarantee. We could have had a low as a porthole.I think it was an o.k. upgrade. They had originally given us R36,then after our problem, they upgraded to E170.I don't care as long as we are on the boat. :)

Tell your mom I said Happy Birthday! We sail on my birthday. Have a great cruise and bring back the scoop. Mariann
