9 Day Explorer Question???

Recommended Posts

Interested in Portofino's on the evening the Explorer is in St. Maarten (Tuesday - July 10th) . Can anyone who may have recently sailed on the 9 day out of Cape Liberty please tell me if I would be missing something special in the dining room on Tuesday night? Also since the ship is in port until 9pm do you recall what show is presented that night. Thanks.

We are just off the 5/25 sailing. Tuesday night is the infamous Caribbean Night menu. The production show was Fast Forward, an 80's based movie themed show, at 9 PM for main seating and 10:45 PM for late seating. There was a pool party and buffet at 11:30 PM.

Most people were back on board well before 9 PM as downtown P-Burg shuts down between 5:30 PM and 6 PM. Several store owners mentioned safety issues as one of the reasons. The stores at the pier were mostly open til 7 PM.

We wanna go back !!

Just off the 5/25 sailing as well.

Here is the menu order:

Day 1 - Bon Voyage

Day 2 (At Sea) - Captain's Gala

Day 3 (Bermuda) - Venetian Feast

Day 4 (At Sea) - Get Out There

Day 5 (St. Maarten) - Crown & Anchor

Day 6 (St. Thomas) - Explorer

Day 7 (San Juan) - Marco Polo

Day 8 (At Sea) - Chef's Dinner

Day 9 (At Sea) - Feast of Nations

As already mentioned, Philipsburg stores close at 5:30 - 6PM, so most were already back on the ship well before 9PM. There was also a blackout the day we were in town, so lots of shops closed early. A couple of shops remained open by the pier until 8:30PM.

Hi.Thanks for the dinner info. I have a question about Portofino's for Thursday night. My question is do you remember what the Marco Polo theme was? Also, do you remember if there were any ice skating shows that night and if you could tell me the times?

Thanks in advance
