MomC2L2 Posted June 3, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 3, 2007 What is the weather like cruising out of New York/New Jersey in December?? We are looking at a holiday cruise and are concerned about the weathers effect on the seas. Traveling to southern caribbean but how is it until one gets there?? Some of us are not the best of rough water travelers! Thanks!!
EileenN Posted June 3, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 3, 2007 We cruised on the Dawn last December 7th to the 17th. It was an unusually warm early winter and by the second full day at sea we were very comfortable. The seas were not especially rough and we had a great voyage with the holiday decorations etc.
Cassandra Posted June 4, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2007 I can't speak for the seas, but outgoing its going to be cold, cold, cold. You're in Ohio, so you are familiar with the weather & those Artic fronts. Now take that cold weather & stand outside on deck on a moving ship. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... But folks have said once you start hit the North Carolina area, its slowly starts to warm up. Just stay inside until then from what's been said. Also stock up on Vitamin C or any vitamins. Best time of year to catch a cold going from a cold climate to a warm one, then back to cold. Plays havoc with your immune system.
