Any one been to the conch factory in Nassau?

Recommended Posts

I just found the date on this "guide"-1994----on the map though it shows it right between the Pompey Museum & Straw Market... The description says-"sells watches and jewellery made from the popular shell. The workmanship is of exceptional quality, and you can also find here many lovely pieces fashioned from coral." -BUT this being an older guide I was wondering if it was even still around......

My husband was born in Key West and thought it might be a neat place to visit?????:o ..

conch is an endangered species, having been overfished in the caribbean, and it is currently illegal for americans to purchase it from certain caribbean countries, although I think there is a still a quota from the bahamas, so you may be lucky

personally, I would leave well alone
