jimswims Posted June 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2007 It may be the Queen Mary 2 or the Queen Elizabeth 2. We were on the QE2 and I believe that both have red funnels.

electricron Posted June 8, 2007 #8 Share Posted June 8, 2007 It's the Queen Mary 2. First, it's longer than the pier, the QE2 isn't, and second the twin exhausts for the gas turbines are visible aft. Only three cruise ships to date are longer than the NY piers, the Freedom of the Seas, the QM2, and the SS Norway. It isn't the first or latter. NowVoyager908 Posted June 8, 2007 #9 Share Posted June 8, 2007 Wow, this is an old picture. If you zoom out and refocus you can see the Intrepid docked and she's been moved to NJ for refurbishing and there's a Celebrity docked between the Intrepid and the ship in question. Celebrity hasn't sailed out of Manhattan since they opened the cruise terminal in Bayonne. So it probably is the QE2.
jimswims Posted June 8, 2007 #10 Share Posted June 8, 2007 QE2 is a good guess Hey Shoreguy, I think that this is a picture of the QM2 :) . The QE2 is does not have this front and is not as big. I think that this is the ship in the satelite picture that the OP asked about.

Well, when I clicked on it I saw a big honking cruise ship (longer than the pier) docked at the left-center of the picture. What did you see?
