tottoncruiser Posted June 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2007 Hi, we are booked on the Oriana in January 08, could anyone advise us to which is the restaurant the Pinnacle or the Oreintal is the best? and what are the differences? Many Thanks
thames_side Posted June 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2007 You will be allocated a restaurant according to your cabin location. Forward cabins go to the Peninsular, aft cabins to the Oriental. However, if you have a choice, go for the Peninsular - there is quite a lot of vibration in the Oriental.
hollyanna Posted June 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2007 I have been on Oriana and am due to go on her again. I was in an aft cabin and was allocated to the Oriental. I do not remember any vibration. It was extremely elegant and very cosy. We went to the Peninsular once for lunch (you can do this with no problem) and preferred the Oriental set up. Both were lovely but liked oriental better. Hollyanna
captain-adman Posted August 26, 2007 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2007 I Prefer Peninsular Its Really Nice In There Try And Get A Cabin At Front Of the Ship :D
john200856 Posted August 26, 2007 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2007 Hi we dined in both, both were very nice but we liked the atmosphere in the Oriental best. There was some vibration but nothing alarming though this may get worse if the sea gets rougher. We had a cabin on A deck forward A108 and it was a long walk to and from the Oriental but worth the effort! We were allocated first sitting in the Penisular but had requested second sitting so we had the first night in the Penisular and subsequent nights in the Oriental. The waiters were great in both.:)
K8T Posted August 26, 2007 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2007 Hi there We prefered the Oriental, it just seemed cosier somehow!! However, the food in both is exactly the same. Try going to the one you don't get allocated to for lunch and have a nosey around, although they do have a different amibiance at night. We are probably going to be in the Pennisular this cruise, but hey, I am on a cruise with silver service and five courses, so what do I care!!!!
