Anyone sailed CCL or others through Baltic?

Recommended Posts

DH and I are considering a Carnival cruise that sails from London with stops at:

  • Copenhagen
  • Berlin
  • Helsinki
  • St. Petersburg
  • Amsterdam

We have done a bunch of cruises in the past (Carribean and Alaska) but never this ambitious. Curious what others have thought of such ventures. 2008 will be our 10 year anniversary so we want to do somethign special!!!

Thanks!

Do not think I would like to tease you...

BUT...

it's the inaurugal season of CARNIVAL in the Baltic Sea...

So first sailing with CARNIVAL SPLENDOR in 2008 and first time in the Baltic Sea... The ship has not been completed yet!

Therefore please do not expect too many answers to the line or ship in the Baltics!

Regards,

HeinBloed

For Berlin you can search for Warnemünde and you get information like:

Berlin is about 150 miles away from Warnemünde where the ship is berthing.

For Amsterdam you should change to the other thread - as Amsterdam is not in the Baltic Sea:

All other ports you mentioned you should find enough comments here in this forum.

We're booked on Carnival Splendor next summer. We just did the Eastern Med. (new itinerary for Carnival) on the Freedom. It was terrific. Carnival has had some experience with the Baltic prior, as the Legend did some Baltic cruises a few years ago. For some feedback, you might want to check out the roll calls for the Splendor. Most of those on "our" Freedom cruise have already booked the Splendor - a lot of them on the 8/30 sailing. Also, in the event you haven't come across it, John Heald (the cruise director on the Freedom) has a blog at http://johnheald.wordpress.com/. He'll also be the cruise director on the Splendor next summer.

Whatever you decide, I hope you enjoy!

I don't necessarily have my heart set on Carnival - just noticed this itinerary looked interesting. I am open to other lines, particularly if they hit Iceland.

Thoughts / suggestions / Good Experiences?
